IGPP ANF Team Helps Transportable Array Complete 400-Station Deployment
On Thursday, August 2, 2007, the first 400-station
deployment of the Transportable Array (TA) was completed. This
major NSF milestone was accomplished almost 2 months ahead of schedule.
When the EarthScope facility was initiated about 4 years
ago, installation of the Transportable Array was considered a
daunting task.
The Array Network Facility (ANF) team at IGPP, headed by principal investigator Dr. Frank Vernon, has been instrumental in the success of this deployment. The ANF team ensures that all the realtime data collected from the TA stations are transmitted, checked for quality, archived, and accessible online for researchers and the general public.
