IGPP graduate students Karen Weitemeyer & Geoffrey Ely win AGU Outstanding Student Paper Awards

Karen Weitemeyer and Geoffrey Ely, both graduate students at IGPP, were awarded Outstanding Student Paper Awards at the American Geophysical Union at the 2007 Fall Meeting in San Francisco, California.
Their presentations were recognized as among the best of a strong group of student presenters, setting an example for fellow students and the entire AGU membership. Karen's paper is entitled "Electromagnetic imaging of hydrates and accretionary structure at Hydrate Ridge, Oregon using 2.5 D model studies." Geoffrey's paper is entitled "Verification of SORD, and application to the TeraShake scenario."
Additionally, Karen's Outstanding Student Paper Award winner will be announced in an upcoming publication of Eos, the weekly newspaper of AGU.
