Abstract: Gene Suemnicht is a registered Professional Geologist (CA,TX) with more than 45 years of professional experience in geothermal exploration and development throughout North, Central and South America, the Caribbean, Europe, the Middle East, Africa and Asia. His background includes extensive work in geology, geochemistry, geophysics and geothermics. He has been the Principal Investigator for DOE funded research and technology development programs in wellbore geophysics and enhanced geothermal systems. He worked for Unocal Geothermal for 17 years and was Exploration and Development Manager for ORMAT Technologies until becoming the CEO and a Principal in EGS Consulting Inc. where he has been responsible for geothermal resource evaluations worldwide. Gene served on the governing board of the Geothermal Resources Council (GRC) and the Geysers Geothermal Association (GGA) and is an active member of the International Geothermal Association (IGA), American Geophysical Union (AGU) and the Geologic Society of America (GSA). He received the Joseph Aidlin Award from the GRC in 2015 for his lifetime contributions to geothermal exploration and development.
