IGPP is thrilled to announce that Professor David Sandwell has been elected as an American Association for the Advancement of Science (AAAS) Fellow in recognition for his development of "the most detailed map to date of the global sea floor, providing scientists with the first uniform-resolution view of 70 percent of the earth. The effort has opened up new areas of research in marine geology and geophysics." (full story here)
Earlier this month, Professor Sandwell spoke with Geology Bites about his use of satellite altimetry and his work in sea floor mapping. The full podcast may be listened to here: https://www.geologybites.com/david-sandwell.
